On the outskirts of Nanyuki, a mountain town in Kenya, there is a conservation organization called the Mount Kenya Trust. This organization is run by some of the most humble and passionate people we’ve come across on our travels. The trust works with communities around the mountain on three main fronts; People, Wildlife and Forests. They have understood that in order to protect the wildlife and the forests, they must engage and care for the people in these areas. Mitigating human wildlife conflict is amongst their main agendas and educating about coexistence. We have had the privilege of working alongside their ranger and office teams and their passion is infectious. Their knowledge about the area and the work they do is second to none. MKT are all about creating sustainable conservation systems that will withstand the tests of time. Definitely one of the organizations we will always be around for.
